Round Rock Express Fan Fest 2026 (Round Rock, TX) – Access Guide

At A Glance

The Round Rock Express Fan Fest 2026 was a free, family-friendly event that opened Dell Diamond to the public ahead of the baseball season. It allowed visitors to explore the ballpark, including the concourse, field, and upper-level areas. Many areas were accessible with a mobility scooter, though crowds and activity lines across the main concourse and upper-level spaces required frequent stopping and maneuvering. Overall, the event provided a helpful preview of what to expect at Dell Diamond, with both strong accessible features and some limitations to consider for future visits.

Accessibility Rating: Mixed

Some accessible features, but noticeable challenges exist.

What We Observed

Parking

Accessible parking is available throughout the Dell Diamond property, with spaces located in multiple lots around the stadium. The west parking lot has the largest concentration of accessible parking, while other lots also include accessible spaces in smaller numbers. Parking was free for Fan Fest, but there is a parking fee for regular games and events.

In the west lot, the row closest to the stadium includes van-accessible parking spaces with striped access aisles. These spaces provide additional width and worked well for both side unloading and rear lift deployment, allowing both scooters to be unloaded without issue. The drive lane directly behind these spaces remains active, so awareness of passing vehicles is important during loading and unloading.

Behind that row are additional standard accessible parking spaces without access aisles, which are more limited in width and may feel tighter for loading and unloading. Other parking areas across the property also include a mix of van-accessible spaces and standard accessible spaces.

Entrance & Access Points

Getting from accessible parking to the entrance is straightforward, with marked pedestrian walkways and curb cutouts leading into the stadium. The main entrance used for Fan Fest was open and easy to navigate without barriers.

Inside the stadium, the main concourse provides wide walkways for easier movement. Elevators are located behind Section 114, in the Intel Club concierge tower, and by the entrance to the Express administrative office near the First Base Gate. Concessions and activity areas line the concourse, with a secondary inner path that is tighter but still allows for two-way traffic. The Railyard Team Store and Home Run Dugout were accessible from the concourse level, while the United Heritage Center required opening doors with handles to enter.

Several areas require steps and are not accessible, including standard seating sections, the rocking chair area, and the Home Run Porch.

Surfaces

Primary surfaces throughout the stadium are concrete, including the concourse, entry areas, seating sections, and upper levels. These surfaces are smooth and consistent.

Fan Fest activities along the concourse were set up on the same level concrete surface, maintaining consistent footing throughout those areas. Tom Foolery includes a rubberized play surface that feels softer under wheels and is limited to that specific area.

The field areas include grass and infield dirt, which are not suitable for mobility scooters and may limit access depending on the activity.

Event Layout & Navigation

The event layout extended throughout the ballpark, with activity stations, vendor areas, and access points to seating and field areas spread across the stadium. While much of the movement takes place along the main concourse, additional areas of the park are connected through this primary pathway.

Aisle space along the concourse is wide enough for mobility scooters, allowing for two-way traffic and turning when needed. Access points into seating sections, field areas, and upper-level spaces are clearly marked and positioned throughout the stadium.

Activity stations and vendor areas are integrated into the overall layout, placing lines and gathering areas within main paths of travel. This often requires adjusting your route around lines, activity zones, and entry points. Some areas, including the field and certain seating sections, are not accessible by scooter due to steps or surface changes, which can affect how directly you are able to move between spaces.

Overall, the layout is straightforward, with clear connections between areas, though activity placement and crowd flow can impact how directly you can move from one part of the ballpark to another.

Seating, Shade & Gathering Areas

During Fan Fest, the stadium was open for visitors to move through and try a wide range of seating areas, including spaces not typically open during a regular game. This provided an opportunity to see what to expect across the ballpark and which areas could realistically work from a mobility scooter perspective.

Accessible seating is located in designated areas along the concourse level for the seating bowl, where scooters can remain in place within marked spaces and companion seats are directly beside them. In some outer accessible sections, there was enough space for both of our scooters to park side by side with seating next to them. These outer sections are fully exposed to the sun, while sections closer to the interior benefit from shade from the overhang above and time of day.

Standard stadium seating sections require stepping down from the concourse and are not accessible by scooter. For those choosing to sit in regular seating, scooters need to be stored with assistance from staff before taking a seat. These sections are more compact, and shade varies depending on location and time of day.

Seating areas such as the Home Run Porch, Rockers, and H-E-B Lawn were open during the event but are not accessible by scooter due to steps or surface conditions. The Home Run Porch includes covered seating, while lawn areas are fully exposed.

Lounge, club, and suite-level spaces—including the Intel Club, Cody Pools Lounge, United Heritage Center, ATFCU Skybox, and suite areas—were open during Fan Fest and include indoor lounge seating and may include stadium-style seating that requires stepping down. Scooters can enter the indoor lounge portions of these spaces, but accessing any stadium-style seats requires stepping down from the suite level. These stadium-style seats are outdoors with overhead covering, providing shade while still being open to the ballpark.

Event Activities & Features

Fan Fest included a wide range of activities for all ages. Attendees could play catch on the field (with a waiver), take photos with Spike, the team mascot, and bat at the Home Run Dugout.

Other activities featured inflatable attractions such as a mechanical bull, bounce house, and pitching inflatable, along with a petting zoo and train rides. Character meet and greets, face painting, balloon artists, and a roaming caricature artist were also part of the event.

The event also offered Kids Club sign-up, opportunities to preview and purchase a season membership, beer sampling for guests 21+, and access to the Railyard Team Store.

Restrooms

Permanent restrooms are located throughout the Dell Diamond concourse with level access. Restrooms are located behind sections 111, 116, and 120, as well as at the end of the first base concourse near the picnic area. Family restrooms are located behind section 119, and additional restrooms are available inside the Intel Club on the suite level.

One restroom near the home plate area uses an open-entry layout (no door, entry around a wall) and includes a large accessible stall with enough space to bring a mobility scooter fully inside and close the door once positioned. Grab bars are available in the stall, and the sink area includes lower sinks and mirrors with open space underneath, allowing a mobility scooter to pull forward and use them from a seated position.

Other restrooms throughout the ballpark also include accessible stalls with grab bars, but interior space varies and may not allow larger mobility scooters to fully enter and close the door.

Crowds

Crowd levels during Fan Fest 2026 were highest along the concourse, particularly around scheduled activities where lines created bottlenecks and required maneuvering or waiting to pass. Movement was more open along the outer walkways and in areas away from activity stations, allowing for easier navigation. Upper-level areas became densely populated at times, with limited space to maneuver scooters and potential delays at elevator access points.

On-field activities, outfield areas, and restrooms were generally less crowded, though specific attractions such as the petting zoo and inflatable activities drew lines. Certain areas, including the Home Run Dugout and select seating sections, presented additional access challenges due to steps, table height, or layout. Navigation remained possible overall but required planning around congested zones and activity-based crowding.

Event Organization & On-Site Support

The event was well organized, with support visible from the moment of arrival and continuing throughout the ballpark. Staff at the main entrance provided maps, handouts, and answered questions, while team members across the stadium were actively supporting event operations and assisting visitors throughout the event.

A Guest Services area is available just inside the Home Plate Gate for questions and assistance. A limited number of manual wheelchairs are available there for checkout during events on a first-come, first-served basis.

Best Times to Visit

We arrived mid-morning for this event and encountered long lines and heavy crowd congestion around activity areas, which made movement more difficult. Based on that experience, arriving right at the start of the event or later toward the end would likely provide a more manageable experience, with more space to move between areas.

For regular games, arriving before first pitch or later in the game may provide a more manageable experience, with fewer crowds and easier movement throughout the stadium.

As an outdoor venue, weather also plays a role in overall comfort. Sun exposure can vary throughout the stadium depending on time of day, so planning around both crowd levels and weather conditions can make a noticeable difference.

Event Highlights

A meaningful part of the event was the community-focused donation drive supporting the Round Rock Area Serving Center. Visitors were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, creating an opportunity to give back while attending the event.

One of the most impactful parts of our visit was the time taken by Elvis to help us navigate the ballpark from a mobility scooter perspective. Having someone guide us through key areas of the concourse and upper level made the experience feel more approachable and allowed us to focus on enjoying the event rather than trying to figure everything out on our own.

That level of support stood out and made a difference in how comfortable we felt moving through the space. It highlighted how much easier a visit can be when accessibility is not only available, but also supported by people who are willing to take the time to help.
