Our Access Guides are a way for us to share what we discover as we get out and explore places together using our mobility scooters. We enjoy going new places, paying attention to what works (and what does not), and capturing those details so others can have an easier time planning their own outings.
This page brings together our accessibility notes, rating summaries, and links from places we have visited around Central Texas. It is meant to be an easy starting point if you are wondering what a place might be like before you go.
How We Rate Places
We rate places based on our real-world experiences, rather than on posted accessibility claims or official designations. Each rating reflects how easy or difficult it felt to navigate the space during our visit.
Our ratings reflect our experiences using mobility scooters and may not represent the experience of people with different mobility needs. We welcome feedback and perspectives to help improve future updates.
We consider things like parking distance, entrances, surface conditions, pathway or aisle space, restrooms, seating, shade, and how crowds affect navigation. Weather, time of day, and crowd levels can change the experience, so ratings may vary depending on conditions.
Accessibility Rating Scale
- Excellent – Fully accessible with little to no extra effort required
- Good – Accessible with minor considerations or small adjustments
- Mixed – Some accessible features, but noticeable challenges exist
- Difficult – Significant barriers that require assistance or workarounds
- Not Accessible – Not reasonably usable with a mobility scooter or similar device
